He will be fine. Nurses in the labor and delivery department are the best. Most are there because they love it. Be thankful they are taking care of him the first few nights. Nobody tells you this but those first few shits are horrible. Its like wipping tar. I swear you need laquer thinner to get that shit off....lol.

Thoughts and prayers for the wife, baby and you. She will be down for a few days from the c-section but mommas are tough chicks. She will act like she is just fine to be able to get up and take care of the litte one.

My wife had a c-section with our first one and vbac for the other 2. I was 19 and scared shitless during the c section. I saw parts of her I never wish to see again..lol.

Thanks for all the kind words and support guys and girls. I'm almost 35 and have never been this sad, happy, scared and excited all at once. I stood thru the c section due to my hip hurting and I say things I thought I would never see! But when the boy was brought out it was so wonderful I couldn't stop crying! And I'm not one to cry. My favorite uncle passed Monday and I was with him ,and buried him on Saturday and never even got choked up. But this was such a different feeling. GetitoffroadGMC I'll be here thru Saturday. Maybe we will see each other at the coffee pot in the am. My name is Jim and I will most likely be wearing blue sweats and a black t shirt. Once again thank you all for the support. I really appreciate it!

I'm Neil, and am wearing jeans and a grey Under Armour hoodie.....

Ill look for you.

My thoughts and prayers to you guys! He is in great hands. The nurses hear are great, and the reason we chose to deliver here was the NICU.

My first I think I was too young/scared and overwhelemed to fully enjoy what was happening. My second and third were not c section. I fully enjoyed the moment and was overwhelmed with emotion. I cried like a little baby and I could not help or stop it. I was so proud.

Sounds a lot like our first, labor that went nowhere, last minute c-section, wife had a fever, baby went to NICU for 3 days. It will work out for you, hang in there

Neil I hope all is well with you and your family also. The nurses keep telling me it will be all right. But I have not had a good couple weeks lately. Well I'm headed back to nicu. Thanks again all

Keep your head up, things will be fine. This is not uncommon and the people handling the situation are the best at what they do. You and your family are in good hands, just keep thinking that.

just you wait until that child is about 14 years old. then you'll REALLY have trouble finding words that describe how you feel!

congrats to you and your wife!

That's what scares me! I know how I was. And if he's only half as bad as I was I'm in for hell! My dad was the same age I am now when I was 14 and I see all the gray hairs he has from me!

Update: baby is doing better hoping to come off oxygen today and hope he can eat today. If he comes off the oxygen and can eat then they will bring him to our room. This is the moment I have been waiting for since this all went down! I just want to hold him for the first time it's breaking mine and my wife's heart not being able to hold him.

So here's the serious question how old does he need to be before I put his carseat in a rig to take him wheeling?

Cj65- my wife & I just went through birthing class. The nurse told us that babys that are born by c-section usually have fluid in there lungs, un like a typical birth that helps to squeeze the fluid out of the baby's lungs when squeezing through the birth canal. She said a C-section baby is born extra juicy, and usually require a short stay in oxygen, that is normal. I would feel very nervous in your situation as well, alot of emotions going on in the recent days. Modern medicine will prevail and get all 3 of you home in good health and happy. My regards to you and your family.

if you HAVE to ask for permission or guidance then don't take him.

if you do take him, protect his neck. don't allow whiplash nor concussion or he could end up like a retired NFL player.

Congrats!

Seeing your wife go through 9 months of pregnancy and labor and child birth will do funny things to your eyes, it made my eyes leak too.

I am glad the little guy is doing better. I hope he and mom make a speedy recovery.

I didn't take my boy wheeling until he was able to sit in a front facing car seat. Even then we had to be careful on the bumps because their necks are not super strong yet. I think he went to the chili run when he was 2 1/2 years.
