Those of you that wear a badge or have served, have you talked about the possibility of this happening? what are your thoughts? would you follow orders to take away guns?
This is an example of where it makes sense to hide, lie, etc.

That would be my story. However, the example I gave is supposedly a true story.

Except for protecting your family. I'd be arrested over and over again if it meant a win for the good guys and a loss for the assholes.

I certainly was wrong in my phrasing that it didn't accomplish anything. A bad guy is dead and a family is protected. The bummer is the home owner went to jail. I could see this as the way that gun ownership would differ from the "cold dead hands" statement.

you want to go back down that path? Guns are not the worlds only source of protection, if you think that you are sadly mistaken as well.

Going caveman on a motherfucker is the other resource. Gun is a bit more direct.

What do you guys expect to happen when everyone in this community is more concerned with defending people's right to make a dollar by fucking over their brothers instead of standing together to defend the rights that our Founding Fathers fought so hard to give us?

Divide and conquer wasn't even the intended tactic this time yet it's exactly what's about to happen.

I don't give a fukc about my reputation or the pain I brought down on myself by going after the people trying to gouge each other during this "panic." This is about so much more than making a profit and STILL no one gives a fukc but their bank statement.

You're right. Lets ban guns. There are so many other ways to protect ourselves. Especially against those bad people (govt. or otherwise) that DO have guns.

Um, wat?
Sorry I wasn't clearer.

If people were more concerned with defending their right to own a firearm as opposed to making money on said firearm maybe we wouldn't be so close to losing the right to begin with.

Shut the fukc up about these so called heavily regulated "free markets" and letting your wallet do the talking. Instead make sure as many people as possible have one of these so called "assault weapons" in their home. It'll do a HELL of a lot more to make sure our children and their children still have the tools available to defend themselves and guarantee that the Constitution is still around.

While I don't disagree, where has anyone mentioned markets or prices in this thread?

Look at any of the other threads concerning firearms in the last few weeks. Especially the "Price Gouging or Free Market" thread.

Well yeah, but those are other threads. There are other threads about hillbilly trucks too. Maybe we should talk about those here?

So recent threads concerning firearms aren't to be discussed in a thread concerning firearms?

Good to know. Thanks for clearing that up.

there are already many, many laws that local law enforcement chooses to ignore.

e.g. Ann Arbor's long standing stance on essentially ignoring Pot, even though the Fed finds it to be a Federal Offense.

e.g. There are already rural Illinois area sheriff's that have looked the other way under their current gun laws

e.g. Prohibition... I'm sure every cop was "Dry" then

in a nut shell, if some other crime were committed at a house, or they had any other 'official' reason to be there then it would probably be more or less 'by the book' (reactionary mode) - else there are in fact going to be examples where Sheriff's and City Chiefs of Police won't allocate a single resource to proactively enforcing Federal Overreach (again)
