On the first quick read, I'm not opposed the most of those, and even support a few. I'll save my full opinion until more details emerge.

I'm curious as to what they will do about: 12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

Right now I believe the standard defense tactic is to literally throw classroom objects at the shooter.

I'm actually right there with you. A lot of these are actually pretty good.

An AWB or mag limit restriction is beyond asinine and everyone knows it.

He passed the heavy lifting off to congress so he can blame the evil Republicans for nothing being done in the next elections. Same as he's done for everything else.

FEMA/DHS has been giving those training classes for #12 for years now.

x2. I'll reserve full opinions until all the details emerge. It all looks good, but it doesn't outline how things will be done and what specifically will be done, which is scary just like you said.

So am I correct in thinking that these orders need to impact someone who can then challenge them in court?

How much do these orders really affect the average Joe?

Obama is going to need a couple of those trillion dollar coins when this is all said and done.

To let the LEOs that monitor this site know that standing with the Constitution will be a MUCH better option than siding with any government official that might one day try to enforce a law that strips us of the rights guaranteed within it.

If there are 100 reading that statement right now I have no doubt that 98 of them will be right there at our sides with us if it came down to it.

It's the other two that need to ask themselves if they think taking our guns is worth losing their lives over since we are obviously willing to die to keep them.

Cross communication between law enforcement and mental health is something that should have happened long ago. Biggest problem is you cannot get a mentally ill person in a controlled environment until he hurts someone. Often that someone is a parent or sibling and the family is reluctant to report it because they think that with a little more effort, they can'fix' him.
Truth is, these people don't have the filter that allows them to tell right from wrong in the moment
They may be genuinely sorry later, but they act on impulse. If you know someone who is on psychactive drugs, it's a good chance they are capable of harming many people.
