Default Engine Rebuilder / Builder

I'm looking for someone who can rebuild a 5.3L V8 Trailblazer engine. I believe this has the active fuel management. I'm looking for a very reputable shop or individual who knows these engines very well. I'm in the Holland, MI. area but would drive to most any Michigan location for the right builder.

Thanks

It really takes someone who knows ls engines to build them. I believe the trail blazer had the lh6 aluminpt 5.3 with afm. You need to decide if you want to keep that or delete it because the cam profiles are different, the valley cover has to be changed and the oil towers have to be drilled, tapped and plugged.

The blocks are pretty straight forward, but can only be bored and honed very little. Also, you need to find a machine shop with an ls torque plate to have it honed. The aluminum block engines are very sensitive to block distortion between heads on and heads off.

Best advice I can give you after building quite a few of these and building many old small blocks is...

If you walk into a machine shop and they have never seen/heard of an ls series engine, walk out. These engines have a lot of little quirks and other things that have to be done just right or you can ruin the entire engine.

If you have any questions or anything, pm me.
