Default colt 1911 ?

I was spending some time with my dad, and decided to break out some guns to clean/oil them after sitting in the safe. My question is with his colt gold cup 70 series. It makes a klink noise from inside the gun when the gun is tipped or tilted, like muzzle up/down. This is not slide rattle, I was tring to show him slide rattle, when we heard this. Neither of us have much 1911 experince to know if this is normal or not. The gun was field striped, cleaned, and function tested. I am thinking it may be a sear or disconnector inside, but I dont know. I am leary to shoot it incase something is wrong. Just looking for someone's input who may know here.

When you put the cross pin back it, you made sure the pin went through the barrel link, not just the frame, right? Lock the slide open and try to rotate or twist the barrel. Thats the only thing I can think of that would make the described noise.

I'm pretty shure the pin was installed trough the barrel link. I thought about that, but I was thinking the recoil spring woild keep tension on the link either way.

Check the cross pin in the barrel link out of the frame for slop.
