I have a 35 spline 8.8 in my mustang it goes mid 9s all day long w/o any issues. I know guys who go low 8s with the 8.8...

I have a 8.8 in my yj that seems pretty tough and it is the 31 spline.

I went the 9'' route a while ago and it was more trouble than it was worth. pinion is to high so it always seemed to starve the pinion bearing.
