Well, then you should have said court costs, instead of saying more of a fine. Dumbass.

All well and good, but that isn't a larger fine, that is the cost of fighting a ticket.

I'm sure it's easily $500 to hire a lawyer. Plus who knows what the fine will be.
Bastards! I'm hoping to get lucky and the ticketing officer won't show.

hate to say it, but AGREE with you.

'troit "leadership" has had 30+ years to get it straight and i am tired of paying for their inabilities/foolishness/wastefulness.

enough with the reparations already!!

You have no idea what your talking about... jackass.

Atleast twice I have been in court to fight a ticket and they told me if I fight it they will bump the charge up to something more severe.

Example... On a 4 wheeler I was charged with fleeing and eluding (i really didn't flee or elude). It was a misdemeanor ticket, when I went to fight it they said I will be charged with a felony fleeing and eluding.

Sure a lawyer could of got it straight but your gonna pay more and there is still a chance to get a felony on record.

Now now why the name calling? I was hoping to see a kinder gentler kickstand for 2013. Not a morphed over version of steveo 2012.

Went to a J. Geils show at the Fillmore about 4 years ago with my son and 3 friends. Was looking for a place to park my truck and went around the corner from the theater. Some ninja with a Cubs hat on waves me over to park on the side of the street, saying everyone can park there for the show. Already cars there, so I figure it's cool. Ninja hits me up for money- fat chance with a Cubs hat. Come out of the show to find my truck, along with all the cars that were parked there, to be gone, with all new cars parked there. Cab driver pulls up and tells everyone the Boulevard-Trumbull Towing tows everybody from there. Called them- yep, they have it. $85 to get it out of their lot. Cab driver says he knows where it is and can take me there. $25 cab ride.

Get to tow yard, burned up empty buildings everywhere. Inside lobby of office, ninja "city official" (with police accompanying him) is bitching that they can't tow his his car because he is a "city official". Eventually gets his car out for free. Police ask him if everything is OK now, and when he says yes, they all leave. The one clerk, having to answer the phone every 2 minutes with people calling to find out if their vehicles are there, is in no hurry the whole time since she obviously hates her job. After about 30 minutes, my turn. Need to get my papers out of the truck to bail it out. Tow guy takes me to it. $30 parking ticket on the windshield. Driver tells me on the way back that they will keep the vehicle til you get the right papers if you don't have them all. Naturally my current insurance paper is on my counter since it just came the other day. Show the clerk the papers, including my last 3 insurance papers. She says they have to wait til my insurance company sends them a copy of the current one to get my truck (it's now about 1:30AM Saturday morning). Pitched a fit telling her that my 3 previous insurance papers show that I am always insured. She eventually says I can get my truck without the proper papers for $145.

$145 to bail truck, $25 cab ride, $30 parking ticket. Everybody was in on it, even the ninja with the Cubs hat I'm sure.

Talked to a retired Detroit cop that I know, and he said that Boulevard-Trumbull is crooked as hell and only stays open because they are in cahoots with the DPD.

Thanks Detroit!

i call BULLSHIT.

it does not matter how you book the fine and related up charges referred to as COSTS. it's still money our of Rob-the-Plumbers pocket that shouldn't belong to the city or the court system.

Yes it costs more, no the fine isn't higher, it's called court costs. There's a difference.

Welcome to Detoilet.

However, the whole cash grab extends up to the judicial level as well. If you foolishly try to fight this without a Detroit lawyer, you will lose, and it will cost you more.
and more than likely while he's waiting in the lobby on his day in court his vehicle will suddenly be found to have 37 outstanding parking tickets, towed, and impounded.

there isn't a bulldozer big enough to handle that shittycity

I got a bogus ticket for doing 90 in a 70. I was in my work van with ladders and a 24' pick on the roof. I was going 78-80 . I fought it and lost, but I did the right thing. I had the van at the court house loaded just as it was when I got the ticket. I begged the cop and vagistrate to drive it to see if it would go 90, they refused.
Now I slow down to 68 on that stretch, and give that stateboy or any other parked there the one finger salute as I drive by with my phone recording my speedometer.
Am I asking for problems? Maybe Do I care? No
