Default Looks like layoffs are hitting my company too....

I work at Textron Fastening Systems as an engineer and we were recently sold to another holding company. It looks like the inevitable reorganization that usually happens with buyouts will be hitting here this morning.

There's been rumors for the last couple of Fridays that the "big layoffs" were going to happen but they never did. Yesterday, an email memo was sent out reassuring everyone that the new owners have set up a standardized severance package. Then this morning we get a very vague memo from the company president stating that some positions will be eliminated. Looks like there will be some very unhappy people today.....

I feel bad for them.

Looks Like Textron is out to "SCREW" somebody.........

Do you know Larry Carter and/or Gary Sifferman?
I've been dealing with them on the 08 LX I/P.

Don't know Larry Carter personally but I have seen him in our building a couple of times. Gary sits a couple of cubes down from me and I've worked with him briefly on a couple of applications. He's a good guy.

I work mostly with our blind product (breakstem, speed fastening, etc.) with an emphasis on pierce rivets.
