I can think of quite a few ways you can design the tax, bond, and insurance system so that it makes it more attractive to keep the guns you purchase legally more secure and therefore less likely to get into the wrong hands. You can offer lower rates for purchasers of more secure gun safes or for firearms with biometric trigger mechanisms that can only be fired by the person who legally purchases it. If initially purchasing a firearm is more expensive, it will disincentivize more from ever being bought in the first place which will mean that there are fewer that could potentially fall into the wrong hands....

Yes, I understand tat you may never stop all criminals from getting guns but that doesn't mean we shouldn't bother making it more difficult.

Saying that we need more guns to prevent future gun violence is like saying we need more cancer to prevent future cancer or more AIDS to stop future AIDS.

So, taxing (or imposing other financial requirements on) weapons would've stopped which shooting?

We need mental illness control, since that's the common thread among all of these shootings. Schools are targeted because they're a soft target, where everyone will be unarmed. Schools are also targeted because attacking defenseless children is abhorrent to our culture, which feeds their sociopathic disorder. These attacks also guarantee the shooter immortality, since they will become household names.

Want to stop school shootings?

1. Stop pandering to the ACLU and other fringe groups and reinstate programs for dealing with mental illness. Understand that the general public's right to safety outweighs a mentally ill person's freedom.

2. Place armed and trained persons in schools - these child killers are cowards and will lose interest if presented with a very real potential of a quick and violent end without the notoriety and immortality they desire.

3. Understand that violent video games are another link in many of these killings. While I'm not going to demonize them like others have done with guns, but acknowledge that they influence a segment of society, perhaps those with existing mental illnesses.

The flaw with your argument is the assertion that the existence of guns is the cause of these events. Unchecked mental illness is the cause.

Video games seem to be where these idiots get their inspiration, because a shotgun would've been much, much worse in CT, VA Tech, Columbine, Tucson, etc...

Make guns more expensive, what a great plan. Please explain to me how the high cost of drugs keeps addicts from getting them? Or maybe explain to me how criminals abide by laws?

Bottom line:
There are 12 million people in this country illegally, raping our entire system from courts, schools, roads etc. and we're worried about making more laws. Give me a fucking break. Enforce the laws we have, then we'll talk about making more.

A simple execution of immigration laws would help or solve:

National security issues (like who's in the fucking country that shouldn't be)
Packed jails
Schools
Court systems

Overworked police
Fire departments
Roads
Unemployment rates
Social security
Misuse of taxes

The list goes on and on and on right down to pollution and foreign oil dependency. But the government holds sessions on steroids in baseball, whether or not i wear a seatbelt, where i can smoke, and restricting how many ounces are in my soda can, fuck off. US government = fail. The only holy thing left is the bill of rights and they want to fukc that up too.

The School Obama's kids go to have 11 armed security officers and they are hiring a 12th.
these are not secret service, but the schools own special police force
