Default David Gregory Violates DC Gun Law On National TV

Stolen From MGO
Meet the Press’s studios are located in Washington DC. This morning on “Meet the Press”, David Gregory decided to wave around a 30-round AR-15 magazine.

From DC’s gun laws:

DC High Capacity Ammunition Magazines – D.C. Official Code 7-2506.01

(b) No person in the District shall possess, sell, or transfer any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm.

For the purposes of this subsection, the term large capacity ammunition feeding device means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition.

The term large capacity ammunition feeding device shall not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition..”

It is also illegal to possess, sell or transfer any “large capacity ammunition feeding device.” A person guilty of this charge can be sentenced to a maximum fine of $1000 and/or up to a year imprisonment. D.C. Criminal Code 7-2506.01.

But at the same time, I'd rather not further empower laws that people wish to change for the sake of giving that guy a hard time. You can't denounce something and then use it for your own benefit.

What part of enforcing a law is "furthering it"? It's the exact problem Lapierre was explaining to that stupid fukc , "why do we need more when we don't enforce what we have?"

You are justifying the law by calling for and supporting its use. You can't speak out against gun control and then go talk up and use the same gun control laws you wish to change, its hypocritical to the cause.

Instead of trying to have charges brought up against the guy this should be spun in a positive manner, such as a, "See, that guy brought a high capacity magazine into DC and it wasn't a big deal and no one got murdered because of it." type of thing.
