i dont know the value of the vehicle that he crashed. I dont expect my ins. to give me money but the reason my car is totaled was 100% his fault. why should he not have to pay for it. What a scam ins is. what a bummer. i iknow if me being a dumbass resulted in someone elses property ruined i would feel responsible. i guess anybody need some xj parts.

I don't have insurance because I'm not a pussy sucked into the government telling me what I have to do. I know how to drive and avoid accidents. I'm sorry you suck at driving.

There are 2 maybe 3 people on this site that should answer questions about insurance. None of them have responded to this thread. Some are partially correct, others are mostly wrong, nobody REALLY knows what they are talking about.

I could go into all the details about what you could have done, should have done and how insurance works, but I stopped doing that a long time ago. I'm going to tell you exactly what you need to do and what not to do, so you don't waste your time.

1. Call your insurance company, ask for a copy of your declarations page.
2. Obtain the police report
4. Get an estimate from a reputable collision shop for the cost of repairs to your vehicle.
5. Call the at fault parties insurance company (claims), ask to file a claim for mini tort.
6. Write the claim number on EVERY SINGLE PAGE of 1., 2., and 3.
7. Fax it to the at fault parties insurance company.
8. Keep the phone and claim # and the adjusters name handy.
9. Wait for your $1,000 check (it used to be $500, they just changed it)
10. Don't try to file a lawsuit for anything else, you aren't entitled to it.

Don't listen to anyone else tell you all about how they think it works. Seriously. Don't.

Your secretary did a good job at recording what you told her.

You are seriously crying over a $2000 vehicle?

That's just a winter beater to people with real jobs.
