So i was on my way to town when.some dumb asd kid pulled out in front of me with.his moms mini van. Nothin i could do and hit it hard in the side. My jeep was an alright shape stock 98 cherokee. Its pretty much toast. My question is what now. I called and made a claim but i had plpd and so is there any chance of me getting something out of this or am i s o l. I figure the jeep was worth somewere between 1500 and 2000.

Can't you still take them to small claims court for $300 or $500 or whatever it is now?

You can go after her insurance for the mini tort (I think that what it is called). The max you can get is $500.

Same thing happened to me about 6 years ago. Plpd, other driver turned in front. They got the failure to yield or whatever else the officer gave them and I got a check for $500. your ins. company goes after theirs as long as they were found at fault.

Yes they were at fault. He got a ticket and i did not. I dont see why i couldnt take him to.court for the value of my vehicle. so i have to pay more for full coverage incase some dumbass hits me. Because in the ten years ive been driving never had an accident and this was no my fault either. Not claiming to be a perfect driver but i guess ill get fucked here. Maybe 500 for the motor trans tcase and 250 for axles 200 scrap. Yea this blows

Yes, that is why they call it FULL COVERAGE and not PERSONABLE LIABILITY PERSONAL DAMAGE. That means it only covers the damage you do to other people's shit.

There used to be something called mini tort or something along them lines. It used to be 600.00 if the other party is at fault .

x2. You took a gamble and lost. Your insurance is in case you injure someone else (which the other driver could claim if you hit him) in which case he could go after your insurance first, then all your assets. You could be penniless by the end of the year... This is why you should really have an umbrella liability policy for at least $500K on top of your auto coverage. Fortunatley for you the officers wrote it as his fault.

Start following the kid around, then threaten to rape him. He'll pay up then. Then go after the Mini-tort.

That's about the best advice you'll get.
