Default Vehicle Nannies are Useless

You just can't fix stupid.

I had a lady in a Yukon XL back into the front of my car today at the gas station car wash. I know for a fact it's equipped with a back-up camera and back-up sensors. The warning chimes for the sensors are very loud inside the vehicle.

Still didn't stop her though. It's so frustrating how ignorant and dumb people can be. It's just sad our government that mandates this crap truly believes that these types of systems prevent all accidents and injuries.

For the record, no improper lane usage took place.

I agree.... 95% of the vehicles i work on in any given day have the low tire light on....you ask how long its been on and most of the time you get a blank stare as they have no clue what you are talking about

THat's actually one of my biggest complaints, my silverado used to. But, the damn cold weather, low tire pressure, then I get to driving and it goes away, then I forget, then its back the next morning its super cold, blah blah blah, I prefer the "eye test" if it looks low put air in it.

Do you really think that the government thinks these systems will prevent ALL accidents and injuries? Do you believe that they do prevent some accidents and injuries?

Mine either, I checked all four tires, one was down lower than the others by about 1 lb, of course then you have to drive it 4 or 5 miles to make the light go off.

Honestly, no. But by the way they press their agenda, they sure make it sound like they do.

I do believe it will prevent some accidents and injuries, but I guess my point is that those who are morons will still cause those accidents and injuries regardless of what nannies you put into a vehicle.

I'm not blaming the government for what happened. I'm simply stating that you could put all the blinking lights and alarm noises on a car you want, and it won't prevent complete idiots from doing what idiots do best.

I personally like tire lights. wife and I left a house we were at she was in her car I was following in mine, she picked up a nail in the tire pulling out of the drive way. the light came on almost instantly she pulled over I hopped out to see what was up, heard the air leaking, changed the tire on the side of a dirt road. She was about 1 mile from the freeway which she would have been getting on. Most likely would not have noticed the tire was going flat until she was on the freeway and I would have been changing the tire on the side of the freeway instead of the dirt road. up until that time I didnt care for them but I thought that was pretty nice that she new the tire was going flat almost instantly... And could pull over and take care of it before she got going highway speeds and it went flat/shreaded the tire and possibley caused damage to the car or injury to my wife and kids.

You could make and market a transmitter/devise that would send a "good" signal and defeat the factory system.

Of coarse this would be for off road use only.
