I hope they bust every union in this country. Than everone can start working at minumum wage again and see who can do the best job of sucking ass to the top again. No since paying union dues whem they can just suck some boss's dick to get ahead.

Or people could just work hard if they want to go somewhere. The hard workers get rewarded and the lazy asses / dumb asses go nowhere or get fired. Sounds pretty fair to me!

If you are working a job where the only think that keeps you above minimum wage is your union representation or dick sucking skills maybe you should consider obtaining some marketable skills. My pay rate, which is several times the minimum wage, is based on what I can provide to my employer.

Why would we get laid off because of this?

I'm not saying that these people will I'm saying I hope they do. Normally I agree with you 99% of the time Bruce. But this your just way out in left field on. Where I work if the union shops in my company didnt make their 22 and some change and hour I wouldn't make my 35 and some change an hour. No I'm not union but I'm glad they are here to keep my wage high. I get paid incentive so the more efficient I work the more I make. Some weeks I drop a little less than the 35 dollar mark with inclement weather and such. Then there are weeks I make more. So if the union goes away so will our wages then there is no fear of us voting in the union.

Then you do not need the union.

Pay should be merit/skill based. Not how long a person has been milking the system.

You are correct Jim. But the company I work for uses the incentive program. To keep the union out. And if there was no union they would just pay us a flat hourly rate. But since there are guys capable of do a good efficient job they have the option to earn more.

So you have a "threat of the union" inflated wage that a free market doesn't normally support, which would imply that your wage is higher than the market would pay......normally..........and soon it would seem.

What's wrong with this? I could drag my feet and work slower and less efficient and make 15-20 dollars an hour. I work hard and efficient to make what I do. I go and help the stragglers damn near everyday to make more cash. I am very good at my job so why shouldn't I be rewarded ? They try to buy out all my time off every year. Reason being they will have to get two to three trucks to do my route and it will take each guy 8-10 hours apiece. Whereas I do my route in 9-10 hours by myself.

My pay rate is based on my skills and abilities. I don't have or need a union to over inflate my pay.

you sound like the typical NYC or New Jersey Longshoremen - or the NY Chapter of the IBEW that prevented non-union truck drivers from delivering hurricane sandy relief/generators.

wishing ill will upon someone simply because they don't share your belief is pretty fucking sad if you ask me - but I guess these days is a sign of the times for a lot of this Divided States of America...

If you can't grasp what's wrong with it, a thread on the internet isn't going to help you understand.

Same as mine. If I was a union member I'd make a lot less. So since my company does not want the union in our shop I shouldn't be rewarded if I work hard?

Really tell me what you think is wrong! I deserve every cent I earn. If I don't pick up my route someone else will and they will in turn earn my cash.

Well it seems like this law wouldnt change anything for you. You would still not be a union member and your work will pay you the same for not being in the union.

I think this law is great, you should be given the choice to join a Union. If the Union is not working for you, you should be able to leave the Union and still keep your job. I think the Unions do good things but working with the UAW pisses me off to no end every time I have to do anything around them.
