Funny that you should call out others on being butthurt, but I guess, you are the expert with all of your stellar work in the classified section.

Go play in traffic.

I disparately need one and they had a cheap one that was just as much as I could afford. they really didn't want to sell me the cheap one, they wanted me to buy a higher priced one. I told them I was going to buy one that day, and could only afford the cheapest one, but if they wanted to sell me a better one at that price I'd take it. They did. I think it was a $450 fridge for $300.

OlI have had alot of people lately who make a special effort to make it clear that they have "cash today" because apparently that is suppose to make up for the fact that they just offered you half you asking price

I am all for negotiating but there comes a point where either your gonna buy it for close to my asking price or your not...make up your mind and quit wasting my time.

The funniest negotiation i have ever been a part of was with my tow rig.....i drove two hours to see it at some tiny little buy here pay here car dealer that was shady at best....i drove it and realized it needed work and was not worth anywhere near the asking price so i take it back and tell them i'm not interested do to the work it needs and go to leave....salesman insists i make a offer since he wants it gone and was being a dick about it....i offered him 25% less than his price (i didn't want the truck but he insisted i make a offer and that was all i felt it was worth so i threw it out there)....he says no way in hell and i leave....half way home he calls me and says he reconsidered and will take my offer....still really not wanting it i told him my price dropped another 500$ since i was almost home and would have to make a return trip....he again balks and then says "oh fukc it....come get the dam thing"....i felt like an ass lowballing the hell out of him but he was determined to sell the truck so i figured what the hell.

As stupid as it sounds, it actually makes sense these days. Stupid amounts of people make offers on shit with no money.

There is so much shit out there i find myself making lowball offers on shit i don't really need just in case it works out. My F100 the guy was asking 2500 and i gave him 850 and he threw in an extra set of tires. There is an art to feeling out different situations. Forums aren't usually a place to lowball, craigslist idiots can suck mine and pay me for it.

People who put shit up for sale on the internet and don't expect stupid offers are dumber than the people making the offers.

I never pay more than what I feel something is worth.

I don't bother calling on something I feel is overpriced.

I can wait a long time to get what I want for what I want to pay.

i have a few friends who somehow manage to get stuff for way less then asking price all the time. i never have that kinda luck. he offers 300 on a 800 dollar item and gets it within a few days.

when i'm buying something i always shop around first to see if i can find the item at a better price. if someone is asking 275 on something i may offer 250 just for a even amount to pay.

My one buddy is a Jew, and offers stupid offers, but he has got a lot of shit for way less that they wanted. I've never been one to lowball. I'll throw out the "bottom dollar" question of it is more than I want to pay, and that has paid off multiple times, I got a truck on here for 66% of asking price, one 80% and free delivery, but a bunch of stuff I have bought on here and CL, I never even offered lower if the price was good.

I am ok and expect stupid offers.....what gets me is people who make the same stupid offer over and over again expecting you to accept just because they have "cash today".
I recently had a guy text me about a set of tires, offer me half my asking price, then over the next two days text me no fewer than 8 times offering me the same amount i turned down in "cash right now". I believe one message even read "you don't want cash bro?" Like i was foolish for turning him down

I just tell them, 'yes, I want cash, just more than what you are offering'

Lol, just had a guy offer me $700 for a running driving car that was listed at $1500. I said no, he countered with $775. My exact response to his offer (via email nonetheless) was "lol, no"

not to long ago I was selling off a set of 35s on 15' rims, lowballer tire kicker guy shows up with the cash in hand looking for winter tires. He is driving a 2003- 2300 Dodge Cummings. I offered him a chance to see if they would fit his truck before he handed over the cash, out came the floor jack, and I have already told him, they are not going to fit over his big 1ton dodge calipers. He proceeds to start shaving one caliper off with my 5" grinder and a flap disk. I told him thats all I got.
I told him I'd be right back, went took a shit, grabbed a coffee and settled into a lawnchair and watched, I had time to kill, 1hr later he finally gave up. hahaha.
I said to him when he was done - maybe with all that material you took off that caliper, maybe it will make the tire off balance
his answer..... wait for it

If I want something that I feel I need and it is at a fair price I will usually pay the asking price. There is no need to haggle on a fair price.

If I am selling something and want it sold I will usually just give it away at a low price just to have it sold. It makes more sense to get rid of stuff at a low price then it does to hang on to something that has become useless.

That all being said I have given away a lot of junk I wish I still had if I only had the room to keep it. But, hey if we all kept all the junk we had over the years the yard would look like a dump. Better to put it into the hands of someone that can use it today then wonder when you will need it later.

I have no problem haggling or asking for the discount but you have to start somewhere reasonable. If you lowball then you offend the seller and can actually hurt your ability to negotiate. I think the problem is that everyone thinks that if you are selling something that you are hurting for money. There are a lot of people selling things that can sit on it and not be hurting in the process. Negotiating is a lost art in this country. When you travel internationally in a lot of places is it customary to negotiate a price.
