I have done the 7 day cruise and stayed at the resort with the park hopper twice and enjoyed it more when the park was first then the cruise. 5 days running around then 7 relaxing is the way to go, the other way and you need a vacation at the end of your vacation.

Is Park Hopper really that big of a deal for kids this young? I would think at this age by the time you leave the park the kid will be ready to crash anyways, no?

I haven't been there with kids to know, I'm just wondering for when we take my daughter.

We've been to Dworld 3 times and Dland once in the past 10 years. The last trip was to Dland and my kids actually liked it better than Dworld but I have a feeling it was because it was a new experience and we also spent time at the beach and San Diego Zoo.
We've tried a few different scenerios at Dworld for lodging, transportation ect. My favorite but most expensive was when we rented a house for a week with another couple. It was way more relaxing and a nice break away from the never ending Disney theme that's thrown at you everywhere.
The most inexpensive trip was at the movie resort. We shuttled from the airport to the resort, took shuttles to and from parks and ate only at the parks and resort. It got old fast. I couldnt wait to get the Hell out of there.
If I had to plan another trip, and it was just my family, I would book 2 nights/3days at one of the nicer resorts and spend a few days out in town. I would probably stay around the international center somewhere.
Book well in advance and look into travel agents that KNOW Disney and the loopholes. I always use a travel agent.

Almost forgot. At your kids age, the magical aspect for them is pretty overwhelming and they're probably going to crash about 3 times a day, mine did. Try to plan shorter trips in the park and pre plan rest areas. Don't make a mistake and try to drag them through non stop for the entire day. You'll ultimately pay the price and will have to throw down 2 zanex washed down with 1/2 bottle of scotch.

I wanna take my son when he is old enough to enjoy, and remember it.

I was 7 when I went. I remember a fair amount, but not all the details....

We were talking about going this year but are staying with my grandparents and will drive there in the morning and drive back at night. So we will only be there for a day. We will only be bringing my one son who is 5. I would like to get the park hopper pass but Im worried we wont have enough time in the day to go to all of the parks we want and do everything we want in one day. Has anyone got the park hopper pass for a day and able to do everything?

it's gonna cost you your privacy. disney is issuing wrist bands with RFI chips that'll track your every move and i am assuming it will be used to bill that snow cone to your credit card.

It'd work, provided there's no one else in line when you go to get on the rides.

Lol. We are probably going to stick with just one park. It was a stupid question now that I think of it.
