Default Oakland County.. need an Excavating company, need to dig out a stump + root system

Anyone work for/know a good excavating company that services the Oxford Area?

I have a 36-48" stump + roots that I need to remove. Grinding isn't going to cut it, need it all removed, to put down a pole barn slab on top of the area.

I got a name from my builder but haven't heard back from them. Figured I'd check if there are any GL4x4'ers that do this kinda work.

Need it done ASAP. Can't start building until we get this out.

Thanks for the referrals, I have a backhoe on site working now :-) Hopefully we get some warmer weather and the slab can get done in a few weeks.

Its his grandfathers name. I think that he is more concerned about keeping his grandfathers memory alive than changing the name because some people are immature

x What ever on an excavation company. There is a small sand mine a mile down the road. I called them, the owner ran right out, and is yanking these 3 stumps, and a 4th one not pictured out at 9am tomorrow, hauling them away, and then smoothing out the driveway for 225.00. 2 maples, 1 oak and 1 pine. (pine not pictured)

About the same price for our work (stump + root ball was 5 ft around, plus about 20 ft of large roots), plus grading work. The company is finishing the site prep and bringing in a few gravel trains of sand and compacting it for the slab.

I was surprised that it was just as cheap as what people were quoting for stump grinding. But I guess in this case, it's all the same amount of time, and the backhoe was a lot easier for the operator than running a stump grinder.

Haggar,

Was A Purves Excavating able to help you out, or did you find someone else?

I had someone else do it. I appreciate the recommendation, though. My builder had a guy that he works with that was able to come out on an hours notice, and is also doing my site fill, compacting, grading, etc. Half a million pounds of sand showing up tomorrow.. lol, neighbors will love me.

That's cool. Glad to help out.

That's like 200 yards or so, just be a couple of trips with the big noisy truck. LOL
