MY brother hunts baby seals.

He was denied a purchase permit for a hand gun and decided to pick up a club.

Sorry, stating most cops are crooked is a generalization that to me, is just repeating things you heard on the internet.

And yes, I am playing Devil's advocate.
I dont remember where he was in conjunction to the white line never paid attention to that, we were stopped long enough to point out a car parked on the side of the road and look at it before moving again .

I didnt say most cops, I said most utica cops are. Unless you know them most will screw you over. I am fortunate enough my girlfriend knows a majority of them so I don't have to worry about it.

Just trying to help the OP show Utica is the worst city to live in. Sucks you have to go thru all this shit because of your brother.

I did not think buying a house in this area was a smart decision for me because then I would be stuck in this area.

Asheville, NC is extremely nice area. I would highly recommend that choice.

Could have been rolled over the line, which is technically running the stop sign. I work in Warren and there is a stop sign on the service drive in front of one of our buildings. People get pulled over continuously for not stopping at the stop sign due to rolling past the sign to see what is coming up the exit ramp. Even though you stop past it, by law, you have blown the stop.

The shop I worked at did all the maint on the Harleys they had, I got the pleasure of picking them up and delivering them, so know some of the officers there also, including the Chief. Never had a problem with any of them.

But I do wish the OP good luck, if not here when he moves.

Seeing how differently two brothers have turned out, I guess that blows the 'it's the parent's fault' argument many use when a kid grows up to be a criminal.

This happened years ago, long before the internet or the ability to do a google search. (probably while you were still in diapers) Maybe the laws have changed, I don't know. No, I didn't get lucky. It was my home and no one ever said I needed to remove a weapon. If they had, he would not have been allowed to stay with us. We were never interviewed and our house was not inspected.

I have no doubt that I was still in diapers at the time

I misjudged you and once again, I apologise.

People are quick to judge on this site because of the large number of young dumbfucks doing stupid shit. Sounds like you've got things squared away for yourself.

People here can be pretty good at judging. Funny, I was ticketed in Utica for running a stop sign. The Hancho was down a perpendicular side street and couldn't even see me when I stopped. He pulled me over in my Utica driveway and ran my stuff. He ended up giving me an impeding traffic ticket. He meets his quota and I get no points. Obvious cash grab in my opinion.

He has no probable cause to believe anyone else in my family is involved at all, I have never even smoked a cigarette lol. That is basically the same as me saying I have probable cause to believe that he is secretly bigfoot and plotted 9/11 with darth vader and mickey mouse.

In a way you could say the chief is looking after your rights here. Your brother has shown his weakness for breaking the law maybe a firearm being in the house maybe too tempting.
Trying to look at the positive side of this.

I don't think it has anything to do with you or your lack of smoking cigarettes. If I had someone living in my house that admitted to selling drugs to fund their habit I would not want to have any guns in my house. Granted I would not have someone slingin' living with me but I definitely see the officers reasoning. I don't know you or your brother but anyone who is selling an illegal substance to fund their own addiction even if it's "just" weed probably has some dealings with sketchy people. It doesn't matter if it's locked in a safe, you are in school and working so probably away from the house a lot. That gives your bro lots of time to get the gun out of a safe. I don't think it's a stretch to dot the lines between drug sales and gun crimes.

In that case the chief should ban all firearms from the city, you know to protect everyone's rights so they can't get shot. The point here is that the law states the chief must issue a purchase permit unless he believes THE APPLICANT is a danger to himself or others

Either way the law is the law. There is nothing written in the Michigan Purchase Permit Law about this. The chief is adding a requirement that he has no right to do

Did you contact a firearm lawyer?
