I would shoot a Glock 36 before buying one . I've owned a couple and didn't care for them . I like the G30 and currently carry the twin G29 in 10mm.

You guys need to reload your own ammo. Once the investment in equipment is over the ammo is half price.

I have a .40 xdm. I like it. If I had to buy it again, I would have a 9mm xdm. My gripe with .40 is it its a snappy round and takes patience to be accurate. With a comparable 9mm I am much more accurate as I don't have as much recoil to fight. Live and learn.

fwiw:
I grew up as a 1911 guy, despite my father being a revolver guy.....

I HATED Glock's, for no good reason, but when given the choice to train/quailify with a Glock, Sig or Smith, I chose the Glock due to the trigger always being consistant... closest to my 1911 roots. Following my LE training, I bought a Glock. I trust it, I shoot it well, and I am completely over the fact that it is plain and simple. It's not the best tool for every job, but it will always work in a pinch, which I like and hold in high regard.

Anyone with experiance/advice?

Thanks!

i am on my 3rd glock and have over 20,000 rounds threw them without any malfunction of any kind.

i have a model 20 10mm now (hunting and action pistol ) and it is way to big to carry every day.
the 30 in 45acp is the same width but has a shorter barrel and grip, but still heavy. i am getting ready to buy a model 27 in 40 s&w for carry.
i carry a ruger sr9c and would feel a lot safer with a glock .

I love my Glock 19.
Buy a good holster and keep the trigger guard clear.
Don't catch a case of "Glock-Leg".

I agree with this guy, I have a Glock Model 22 fullsize .40, Its a great gun and is reliable, but it is ugly and big.

I would much rather get a compact 1911. Im looking at getting a RIA compact.

I am going to shoot my buddies Glock 19 this weekend. He brought it over the other night and it felt comfortable to conceal, decent fit in my hand.

I am really leaning towards a 9mm for my first pistol. I would much rather have 15 bullets ready to shoot than 8 .45 bullets.

I do not want a traditional safety for my carry weapon.

I have the Glock 22 (.40cal) and love it. Put a ported barrel on it and extra capacity clip. Also replaced guide rod with lazor guide rod.

my hands are too small for most double stacks.
my next pistol will be a 9mm, cause they fairly cheap to shoot compared to my .45.
never thought id want a 9mm, always loved my .45 and .44 mag.
my father was a gunsmith, i have shot most "common" calibers.
i gotta try shooting a 10mm. i know ammo is not cheap for them though.

I bought a used gen 3 glock 19 for my first pistol when I was 20 with the intentions of using it for my concealed weapon when I turned 21. I got familar with it. And did quite a bit of target practice with it. I had to go thru the sheriffs dept to get a pistol permit to do so because I was not 21 yet. I took my ccw class and got everything good to go so I could conceal carry. I found for my body size, the glock 19 was a little to big for me (my waist size is a 32) and I didn't quite feel comfortable with it being completely concealed to my standards. I tried the 4th gen glock 26 (9mm) fit much better for me and I ended up getting a new glock 26 to be my ccw gun. It being a 10 rd magazine I have a glock 19 magazine (15 rd) that I carry as a spare in a belt holder, so it looks like I have a utillity knife holder and no one would guess that its a spare magazine. Works great and feel very comfortable with it.

I carry g26 on my right hip. I did add an extended grip thingy to my mags because it was a little short for my hand. I've shot about 900 rounds with it. Not one misfire.
