Default School me on selling cars on EBay

What our the experiences out there?
Is it worth the hassle?
Any pitfalls?

Sold a car that kissed a guard rail to a guy in Toledo.
He sent a wrecker and a stack of cash that was more than any junkyard in the area would pay.

It wasn't bad the couple times I sold cars but I really hate the fees they charge..

I sold my motorcycle on there last year. Fees take a toll and add up quick, relatively safe if going through PayPal I think they'll back you up if the funds fall through. And buyer set up shipping to New York, a large motorcycle hauler came and met me where I told him to and took it away. Pretty painless and I didn't have to deal with the jackasses tire kicking and offering nothing and a stick of gum for it

eBay also has a 'classifieds' option that doesn't cost any money. The only hitch is that the listing is only visible to people within xxx miles of your location (I think its 200 miles??).

If you do the paid listings, your listing is worldwide and you have some more options.

He admited on page 3 or 4 this was a joke.

Ive listed but never sold vehicles on ebay, always sold locally first and took down the listing. I have had friends who have sold on it and the only problem ive ever heard is when people win the auction and then dont pay up and it has to be relisted and go though all the BS that intails.

A friend of mine sold a motorcycle on eBay to someone in Poland. He didn't add in crating charges, and barely broke even (owed some money on the bike- HD springer softail) after having to pay a company to crate the bike.

Only 'seller's horror story' that I'm personally familiar with. Most go smooth unless buyer is a 14 year old with an itchy clicker finger.
