I would like to see that rule in print ?
As long as your not touching the vehicle when you load and shoot your good . Don't forget your orange while hunting also.
The DNR's favorite setup is the road side mechanical deer for road hunters.

Need to be going at least 40 and something to protect the windshield is usually helpful. I dont think those are actual rules, just good practice

Almost got a nice forkhorn @ 14 & M5 this morning.

Gun must be in a case in your vehicle. Get off the road and out in the woods.

Down around Detroit "road hunting" is called drive-by.
Same thing?

got a citation for that? telling me I can't put a weapon in my locked, inaccessible trunk for transport?

When I'm bored I like to mess with the poor bastards at www.bidcorp.com that periodically sell of DNR/MSP siezed hunting weapons when they mention the winning bidder "must bring a case" to retrieve any weapon purchased through bidcorp.com

it's particularly ironic to me as many of said weapons do in fact have a case as part of the auction lot, but they lazily copy+paste the same disclaimer even if it doesn't apply.

It is illegal to hunt or PURSUE wild animals from a car, snowmobile, aircraft, motorboat, personal watercraft, or other motorized vehicle, or by sail-boat. Exceptions: see 2012-2013 Michigan Waterfowl digest; special permits may also apply.

I love retarded "hunters."

Also here is this.

"Michigan law prohibits hunting or shooting from a vehicle. The state's recreational trespass law prohibits shooting game from a public roadway when the adjacent property is privately owned. "

Taken from this article on the DNR website.

By the way the law is written it sounds like that to me. I know a road near home that is state land on both sides and the bitchiest of COs in the area told me I can walk down the middle and hunt.
