First you have to be a Michigan resident . If you are or when you are just walk in to the local PD and ask for permits for how many pistols you need to register. Go home fill out the needed information on the permit application and return it to the PD. Just put your name in for seller and buyer . If they ask tell them you just move her and need to register them .
Real easy and straight forward.
Thanks for your service !

he bumped like 6 threads that were over 7 years old. I am not sure if he did anything else, but I always got yelled at by sandals for doing that, maybe sandals didn't like that SS did it?

The PD 'can' charge up to $10 for notary fees. Some do, some don't. Eastpointe charges the full $10, so it paid off for me to get a cpl.

If you are moving into the state you fill in the normal form for a purchase and mark yourself as the seller. That is what I did when i moved into the state.

Just stop at your bank or credit union, they'll probably notarize it for free, it doesn't have to be done at the cop shop.

There us no national gun registration database.

No such thing as a national database.

I don't see anything on here where you called and verified. I'd still call and verify. If you're going through the "standard" purchase permit process, you can only get 1 permit a day.

You'll probably follow the same process that CPL holders use to get their firearms registered.

I was cracked out on a whole pot of STRONG coffee and had the day off work. I went crazy there for a little bit and needed a time out. Burned up the server with rapid fire posts

On the upside the PM was HILARIOUS. "24 Hour EMERGENCY Ban" and I now have 10 points to my name.

Talked to Oakland County Sheriffs Office and I just need to fill out the forms as buyer and seller and turn them in once I move back home.

Before my cpl I was able to get multiple permits in the same visit they are only good for 10 days though.

There is no national gun database, as FlatFender has already pointed out. States handle the registrations. In Michigan it's the Michigan State Police.

I have just moved to Michigan from another state. How much time do I have to register my pistols?

MCL 28.422 Upon establishing legal residency, you should immediately contact your local law enforcement agency, pass the basic safety questionnaire, and complete a License to Purchase.

Everytime I get one they ask how many do I need, there is no 1 per day limit.

Same here, she asked me how many permits I needed when I registered my gun.

That's the tricky part. I was never not a resident of Michigan. Never got a TX Driver's License, etc.

Forgot to ask if it could be construed as purchasing without a purchase permit.

If you lived and worked in Texas for more than 30 days, you were more than likely considered a resident.
