Limiting voting rights is against the values of this country, even if it was founded with limited voting rights. Confusing, no?

The electoral college county map is really telling.

A few urban areas elect the leader for the remainder of the country. Not representative government - time for the electoral college to go.

Add the media's dedication to defeating the and it was the most likely outcome.

Upward and onward. I smell impeachment over the Libyabullshit.
Source? MI looks a little different on fox news is all.

I dont' know enough about the electoral college to say whether it should stay or go, but in this election, Obama won the popular vote anyway so it doesn't seem like it would have mattered. I've always thought the EC was kind of odd. The idea that someone can lose the election by EC but win the popular vote seems crazy. Guess I need to do some reading...

Sure, but how many times has that actually happened? With out doing ANY research I can remember 1 time in my lifetime, which has had at least 8 presidential elections.

Very true.

But maybe if people didn't think that their votes were just a throw away because they live in a predominantly / area it may change the game a bit.

I talked to quite a few people that had intentions of voting for Romney, or at least against Obama, that didn't even bother to vote because they knew Michigan would go no matter what. Not saying that's right, valid, or anything like that. Honestly I'm not sure I even want someone who feels that way to even bother voting anyway....buuuuuut situations like that may change if people knew that every single +1 could mean something on the national stage.

It sucks that states are so ingraned that they can be predicted months before the election and therefore a swing state like Ohio can determine the entire outcome to an election.

It's not that the are doing anything wrong, it that society chooses to have everything given to them and live a immoral and uneducated life which the left welcomes

It isn't that easy.

I spent 14 hours in my local polling place Tue to observe the election (and make sure no dirt asses voted illegally ) and learned a ton.

A whole lot of gainfully employed folks came in obviously voting Obie based on misinformation & scare tactics (people waiting in lines become chatty). I heard lots of UAW types (based on their plant uniforms and/or UAW voting instruction sheets) voting to avenge Romney wanting to let the autos go bankrupt (uh, they DID) and skilled trades folk worried about a "war on the middle class". Some androgynous hipsters heard there would be "gay concentration camps" under Romney.

The election was more about class warfare than dirt asses wanting free stuff. The dirt asses will always go - the issue is the working folks who have been scared by election misinformation.

The election was apparently decided by issues the president has no control over anyway.
