The gay life style......well it does not affect me directly. They can live that way if they like.
I will need to think on this alittle more, I'll get back to you.
Do I see a progression in opinion or at least a glimmer of open-mindedness?! Hallelujah!

This is the problem with all organized religion that I have come across.

I'm right there on abortion passed the first trimester (or in absolute extreme cases like Kerry Ann shared. That's horrible.)

The problem I have with the whole gay thing is how the lifestyle of less than 4% of the population is being shoved down the country's throat. Last time I checked gays weren't being arrested, beaten en masse in the streets, executed or forced to live in hiding. They are not oppressed. Why do I have to hear about their "struggle" every time I turn on the damn tv?

But to justify any of this based on a book written by Men that was selectively edited and spun worse than anything on MSNBC by political figures over a thousand years ago is asinine and laughable. If you don't believe it was... why does the Vatican openly admit that there are "secret" books that were removed from the Bible and in their archives that no one will ever be allowed to read? Why is it the mission of any church to suppress the evolution of our understanding of God under the guise of "blasphemy" even when the information or idea presented can be supported by science, thus offering more evidence to the God they believe in actually existing?

Why is it a lifestyle? I don't get it. I know gays that live no different than you or I, just that they go home to someone with the same parts they have. I've heard the number is around 10% but I'm not sure if anyone knows. I believe they just want the same rights and privileges that we all enjoy. The legal ramification of marriage is pretty significant and I don't believe they want anything special. If you were prohibited from rights that others had, you probably wouldn't sit back and take it lying down either.

I didn't say I was against it. I said I'm sick of hearing about it. There are MUCH more pressing issues to take care of in our country right now for ALL of our sake yet everyone keeps screaming about gay marriage.

Again, if I was being told I couldn't have the rights others had, I wouldn't shut up about it either. It may only effect a small percentage of the population, but to those effected, it impacts them in a big way and because of that, I get why they're so persistent on seeing change. If the bible beaters wouldn't continue to roadblock them and they were given equal treatment, I bet we wouldn't hear anything about the gays and they would simply go on living their lives. I do agree there are far more pressing issues to the majority of the population though.

Well, I think we've been thinking about this wrong. Take note at what happened in Colorado with the marijuana. Now think about the proverbs.

"A man who sleeps with another must be stoned."

Well, there you have it. Legalize pot and gays and the proverbs are complete.

They want to be treated like the 96% of the population that are normal or for the 96% to make something special for them.

As for you question about being prohibited from rights and not sitting back and taking lying down . . . can you please let me know what the women of Islam are doing? Why is the country so consumed with 4% of freaks when a whole religion oppresses women and we do nothing?

How do you consider them asking to be treated the SAME as asking for something special?

The women of Islam have absolutely nothing to do with American politics. Sorry. Nice try at a deflection though.

Again, once we grant equal rights to gays you probably won't hear from them. The bible-beaters and bigots standing in their way are causing them to be more and more vocal. You're sick of hearing them? Vote for people willing to treat them as equals and I guarantee they will go about their lives as you and I do.

Because they are not the same. They are abnormal just like pedofiles, beastaility, whatever other abnormal "small" groups that are out there.

Sorry I can't do that. Remember the black and white idea of a perfect society instead of the Grey one that you want so badly for the 4% of those that can do nothing for the future society. (Procreate if you didn't understand)

Why would I want to change what has been perfect since the beginning of time. Maybe you should think about that. Are you smarter and wiser then all those who came before you that understood where the gays stood in society?

We could go round and round about what it means to be "treated the same". If marriage is defined as the union of one man and one woman that would apply equally to everyone. If that type of relationship is not right for you why should the world have to change for you?

So them asking for equal rights is a special request to you because in your mind, they're abnormal, huh? Homosexuality is perfectly normal and something that occurs in nature. It freaks me out a bit to think about but I'm intelligent enough to know that just because it's not most people, doesn't make it abnormal. You're either ignorant or plain dumb if you can't see the difference between pedophiles, people that fukc goats and a gay couple. Your procreation angle is just as idiotic. Based on your view, we should also have separate rules for sterile men and women since they "can't do anything for the future society". What's going to happen is actually as black and white as it gets. Any two consenting adults will be able to join in a legal union. Nothing grey there at all nor anything that impacts you whatsoever.

It will change because it discriminates against a percentage of Americans, harming no one, that are entitled to the same rights.

As Christians we tend to think outside of the box. There is a much bigger picture at play here. The life as we know it is very short in comparison to eternity. For me to think with an open mind like you and others willing to say if it does not affect me nor my family it's ok. I used to be very liberal minded and thought the same as you. Knowing God has changed my mind and my heart. I see things much different now. You might say I've seen the Light.
Man is instinctively immoral and evil. Without rules and laws man would do as he pleases and it shows in uncivilzed countries. We need to have self control and some people have no self control.
So your question about does my closemindedness bring people together? Only if those people have a need to get right with God. If not then we have people that would tell me that I am closeminded and am not accepting of others and thier will to do whatever they want, reacting on disires and impulses that may not be good for them or others around them.

I have never met someone who is so much wiser then all past human existence. Must be hard to live with yourself. As for the procreation all things are possible and there is a great deal of records of sterile men and barren women miraculously conceiving.... but yet to see a gay couple naturally have a kid.

It's only natural to be wiser than previous generations. It's called progression and evolution. As new technology and science becomes available, of course our knowledge level increases along with that. You're no wiser than those of the stone-age? Pretty scary if you really think that way.

And your "oh some sterile people have conceived" BS doesn't mean dick. There are still those that simply cannot procreate due to medical reasons and I don't believe you would advocate fewer rights for them. Your procreation argument was dead at the starting gate. I'm still waiting for you to make a point other than "fags are weird and can't make babies".

If you understood what the difference between a world view and a biblical world view is then you could understand where I am coming from.
See the difference is I was where you are now and have had a taste of both.
I think if you would be so openminded to see things from my side you would see everything in a whole new light.

Do you know what people did before the had tools to write things down with? Like paper, pencils or computers?
They completely memorized them. The bible was something recorded from memory, word for word.
I think people were at one time way smarter the you or I will ever be.
So your idea of knowledge progressing with evolution is nonsence.
