Arrow Lowrider Ranger to "Prerunner" Ranger

I bought a 99 short bed regular cab 2wd Ford Ranger to drive back and forth to work so my TJ can go back to toy status. It's a lowrider, I have always wanted one, it's super cute, however it rides like complete feces.

My thought was that I would throw a 2wd Cherokee beam under the front, off the shelf Cherokee long arms - fab some mounts, track bar mount, coil/shock mounts, etc. Also throw some flexy leaves in the back. I'd still drive it back and forth to work but also be dual purpose where I could throw on some paddles on it and go to the dunes.

As I am doing some research earlier today, it appears as if this bad boy has rack and pinion steering... Does this put a kabosh in my thoughts? Can a regular steering box be fabbed in?(i.e. compatible with the steering column)

Any ideas, thoughts, questions, comments, concerns?

I would just put 3" lift spindles for the front and a lift shackle + AAL for the rear.

So I completely forgot about the ranger station. The one build I have seen so far a guy took a steering box from an FJ60 and mounted it on the outisde of the frame.

Why do any of the axle swap stuff if you're going to keep it 2wd?

It probably has drop spindles on it now, just replace them with lift ones, then take care of the rear.

Here's a 2wd lifted ranger pic, I think this would be 100x better than a "beam" axle swaped in.
