the only suggestion i have is keep the 4.3 as long as you can. especially if you plan on doin a sfa swap. i tried to do everything in one jump and wound up with nothing but alot of headaches.

good luck with the build.

I want to because for for it is it does have a lot of smoke the tires power. The guy I bought it from put almost 2000 grand into the motor and trans about 2-3 months ago.
I had the receipts but the drivers door dosent shut and when I turned the door swung open and I lost them.

Do you have and tips or hints on a sfa swap?

if it's gonna be strictly a trail rig just gear it deep and that 4.3 will be more than you'll ever need.. I have yet to be "underpowered" in any terrain. as for that IFS if you plan on any lift just go SAS off the bat and save the time and money .

FREAK was breaking D44 axle shafts with a 4.3, pretty sure his rig is still broken.

Wadey has a small problem with shafts too but I think it's more his driving style.

If you are looking for a plan to follow on a trail/dune/DD rig than Wade's is hard to beat. It does well in all terrain, even the rocks.

Blzr's is good too if you wanted to go leaf spring.

depends on what you use for a suspension wadeys setup is really nice, but wasnt in my price range especially after i bought the doubler. if you end up doing a leave sprung system with a tire over 36's try and get the front leafs front spring hanger as far forward as possible. my 38's hit my fenders until i cut and hammered the firewall back. also 56" chevy spring work well in the rear as the mount the axle 3" further back.

heres a build i looked at for ideas/solutions to problems.

there is actually a few well built rigs in that site to look at for ideas. good luck with build

Oh trust me its definitely Justin's driving style , he definitely drives it like he stole it , lol , that's for sure !!
As a matter of fact I believe he just had a 1340 , thick wall rear shaft built for it about a month ago cuz he managed to screw up another one , haha , but he said this one should last ?? I guess we will see ??

All depends on your tire size and driving style. 33's and light foot it might hold up. 35's and bigger I would say no way.

I know your only planning on running 33's on it but even 33's will stress out a stock D-30 especially if you put a locker in it , plus just like everyone else , when your 33's wear out , or even sooner , your going to be trying to figure out a way to put 35's under it !! So if your gonna do all that work of swapping everything out anyway then I wouldn't put anything less than a D-44 !! But that's just me !! For example , I did not buy a Rubicon so I had the D-30 open axel , so I got the D-44 and bought RCV's (awesome but $$$) , Poly sleeved it , put in Timken bearings & seals , 513 Superior gears , Crane diff cover , Dynatrac ball joints , welded C-gussets on it , ARB air locker , AEV flip steer kit , Poly tie rod , Poly draglink , Superior lower control arm skids , and I'm running 37's and I am Really happy with it -BUT- with all the money I spent to build a D-44 , I could of just bought a "Pro-rock 60" and probably saved money !! And I could go to 40" tires instead of being stuck with 37's !! All because I had 35's at the time and didn't put a lot of thought into the future !! Don't make that same mistake !! Just buy bigger than you need , instead of spending $$$ and building something smaller !!
