Default No fifth gear :(

I have an 08 civic ex with a 5 speed. This morning on the highway my rpms jumped up and I lost fifth gear. The shifter moves smoothly to the fifth position and every other gear works smoothly. Without pressing the clutch in I can move the shifter to the fifth position with no grinding or resistance.
There looks to be only 2 cables attached to the shifter, is it possible one is broke? Any ideas? Besides its a Honda or foreign

The cables control front to back and side to side movement. TheY don't control individual gears. Sounds like something broke. I don't remember if Honda has one, but some fwd manuals have side cover that is removable. Inside this cover is usually where fifth gear is located. If it doesn't have one, you'll have to pull the trans to fix it.
