That still doesn't prove anything. GM never offered the 427 in a camaro. SLP sold camaros that they put the 427 in the some other doo dads for the bargain price of $80k lol. So technically you are all correct. If your dad really did get that engine from a SLP camaro, he has one rare engine and probably wasn't cheap unless the junk yard didn't know what they had.

If I remember correctly he paid 8500 for the drivetrain and wiring harness.

Yeah a lot of salvage yards are in the dark about a super rare new engine. $8500 for a $25000 drivetrain is awesome! Where can I buy one?

My dad bought it from lkq. It was sold to him as is no warranty being its not going into the original application. My dad is putting it all into a 55 Chevy 2dr hdt sport coupe. Should run good.

Like I said before GM never put a 427 in those Camaro's. You must trust me on this....... Anybody can sticker or badge up a car and are you sure you have a 7.0L engine? Did you check the numbers? So it still proves nothing to me.

If it truly is a 427 then congratulations on the good deal.

Is this the donor car? If so, it is a SLP specialty car.

This is not the donor car. But the car it came from was exactly like it. And yes it is a 7.0 my father would know better than anyone being he is a engine guru for gm. He has a lot to do with prototype engines.

So instead of moving forward he is stuck on trying to squeeze more power out of 1940's technology?

I can tell you this much about this car. It belongs to a nigga I work with. Rumor around the yard is he paid 70k cash for it. After I supercharged my 2006 trailblazer SS he still walked me bad. So I have to believe it is a true 7.0 car like the one my dad got his from.

Man, you need to start a build thread on this! It sounds like a nice build and would be interesting to follow.
