Default 2001 Xj 4.0 **SOLD**

Bracketry, but no accessories. Injectors, TB, manifolds, and fuel system intact, I have the ignition rail on the shelf. Has been robbed of its water pump (Shift) and TPS (Skooter). Was pulled at Dealership after numerous complaints of slight "ticking" sound by annoying owner. Some kind of small triangular pad-like parts in the valvetrain are suspected to be the culprits. Apparently happens a lot and some people just live with it? Bought it because it only needed little bullshit repairs. Was to be the platform for my stroker. The coil rail is sitting on the shelf in the 3rd pic.

$300.

Mileage?

Will it bolt into my friend's 89 Cherokee?

What type of repairs does it need and how long has it been sitting?

We're looking at pricing to rebuild his 4.0L and your route would be cheaper!

I know nothing about your friend's 89 XJ, so I can't answer that question.

I don't know the miles.

I don't know how long it has been sitting. I've had it for a few months. Already listed what it needs to the best of my knowledge in the first post.

2000v10:
The 89 4.0 is differant than the 2000 in some important features. They use differant intake and exhaust manifolds, have differant accessories, and use an entirelly differant computer/electrical system. You could put this engine in an 89, but it would probably be much more work (and cost) than just rebuilding the one you have. If you find a differant engine, you'll need an 87-90 4.0 for direct bolt-in application.

Anyone know if the long block is the same for '89 and '00?

His intake, exhaust, electrical, etc is all good. He just needs a good bottom end.

If you put his head on the new bottom end everything will work. The heads can go on either block. I did it the other way around with my old MJ I put my HO head on a non-HO block.

How much do you want for just the TB with MAP and IAC?

I don't want to part it out. That will just make it harder to sell.

i should have thought of that, putting the 89 head on the 01 block should be fine.
