I like the work. Keep up the progress. What are you making the Boatsides out of? I've always thought it would be slick to add a sheet of UHMV to the top of them when done.

No kidding, chain step, rope ladder, pink step stool with unicorns, bacon on the passenger seat.... decisions decisions.

And Walt send me some dimensions and ill see if I can bend something up from that wasted hoop next time I'm home.

Thanks Drew, and they it's all .120 wall(2x2 and 2x6) I'm not really concerned with it being too thin since it's so angled and will be getting plated. And I am looking at throwing a sheet of UHMV on there to give me a little side action

Got a little bit done on the cage over the weekend. My notcher was anxiously awaiting my arrival when I got home.

My drawing board.

Top bars in after dropping it thru the floor for final welding.

Helpers doing a little grinding.

And the start of the rear, 6 points in the cab and then I will be running tube thru the engine compartment into the stinger to help stiffen up the front. Starting to dial in the notcher/bender and am doing better that I thought on my first cage. Plan is to have a racing bench in the rear but I'm a little concerned about headroom as i'm not sure how low I can mount it to the floor/how thick the bottoms are. I am almost 6'4" and for me to fit I would need to tilt the rear seat back considerably

updates from this past weekend..

Basically got the cage wrapped up, It's nice to have a plan come together. Still debating on adding another bar to support the roof, we will see. Im waiting on my seats so I can add the X and see how it all is going to fit. I have it narrowed down to mastercraft and corbeau.

Also if anyone has any opinions on the Empi race trim seats please speak up. Seem to be an ok seat for a good price but I have heard the stitching/fabric doesn't wear that great.

Random progression pics..

Well here is how it ended up after some paint, tire carrier, and seats. I sprung for the PRP harnesses with sewn in pads and automotive style buckle, very impressed with them. Wrapped it up and played around at the dunes. Still have trans problems but at least it looks better.

New Driveshaft

New ram and tire rod

Few more pics from the dunes and whatnot...

Post Massey Furg grey tractor paint..

Also took it to R&V and made almost made it into the trail. To say my truck has problems getting pointed in the right direction would be like saying the Hindenburg was slightly flammable. Ripped the ram off the axle breaking a hydro line. Being that the TSC ram that i bought in a pinch had a longer overall length, the mount on the axle ended up half on the cast and half on tube itself. I braced it into the tube and thought i would be ok, i was wrong. My fault really for not having a big enough torch for the pre heating im assuming. Pulled that off and capped the box and attempted to wheel again. In the middle of that trail completely lost the PS pump. Came back to rescue it later in the day, thank god for good friends and all the help is all i can say. To date that is two steering boxes and 3-4 pumps, and 1 toasted ram
