Default The "something other than a XJ" JK build

Well after having 3 lifted and differently built XJ's I decided I needed something different. So I found a 2007 JK Rubicon with 114,000 on it for a decent price. It already has a 4" Teraflex lift kit on it with some 35's, and minus a transfer case skid and the factory rock sliders, it is fully skidded underneath along with upgraded ARB diff covers. It has a 9.5 Warn winch and SmittyBilt bumpers front and rear. It also has a few Chinese brand LED light bars that at first I thought were hideous but they have grown on me some. I'll probably keep them until they break. Overall I am pretty happy with it so far, but I can't wait to take it out and beat on it some.

The current plan is putting some rock sliders on it and getting a transfer case skid, along with doing some minor cosmetic type work. Future plans will be replacing the bumpers with something a little nicer. Within the next 6-8 months it will get tons swapped in along with bumping it up to a 40" tire. The tons will be trussed with ARB's and 5.38's. Further down the road I would like to swap in a Hemi (or LS) to really liven it up some.

This is the only good picture I have of it right now.

PS - this is all @RDK_YJ88's fault.

Your avi shows 2 XJ's trying to hump each other. BTW, nice JK.

That was my initial thought, but after some research the Hemi may be easier and cheaper. We'll see.

Couldn't pass up the deals I got on them. I'll be ordering my trusses shortly. If I could sell anything I've got for sale it would defintely speed up the process.

Time to update this a little. I've been real busy with work so this has taken a small backseat.

Finally sold the XJ, which gives me some extra sending money for the JK. Even better, I sold it without the Iroks so I already have a nice set of 40's for the JK.

Started doing some grinding this week and cleaned up the front axle to get ready for the truss. The rear will probably get done this weekend.

My trusses showed up today.

I was hoping to have the tons in before Snofari but with work getting in the way, they don't probably go in until after.

Nice. I just went 3/4 ton d44 front 60 rear. For $250 I can't complain though

Look out your window and let me know if anything has changed. I was hoping I'd stop by and it would be done.

Took the JK to SnoFari and it did well, but it's time for bigger, more aggressive tires.

Between work and other activities I finally got started on this with the help of @RDK_YJ88.

Got the axle sandblasted to start fresh when welding on the truss.

The hub assemblies, lockouts, and axle shaft u-joints were wasted so I decided to start fresh, only reusing the stock inner shafts. Upgraded to chromoly outters and Warn lockouts. Next up is purchasing gears, ARB locker, diff cover, and all new brake parts. Then it will be time to start working on the rear.
