If we end up having a war on both sides of the world, which is very likely with asia and iran, a larger military isn't that bad of an idea.

Not nearly as strong as it needs to be in these times.

We have a strong military, one of the best in the world, but with the instability worldwide it doesn't sound like a bad option to be prepared.

Obama really struggles on the auto industry. Miggy clearly has a much stronger business acumen

The famous Romney op-Ed on the auto industry called for an orderly bankruptcy.

Read passage below:

It is not wrong to ask for government help, but the automakers should come up with a win-win proposition. I believe the federal government should invest substantially more in basic research — on new energy sources, fuel-economy technology, materials science and the like — that will ultimately benefit the automotive industry, along with many others. I believe Washington should raise energy research spending to $20 billion a year, from the $4 billion that is spent today. The research could be done at universities, at research labs and even through public-private collaboration. The federal government should also rectify the imbedded tax penalties that favor foreign carmakers.

Obie is full of shit on this one.

I agree with all this.

When listening to both talk about the auto industry....i get the sense that Barry wants to be clear he "saved" it, but he really has no clue how or even why. Mitt on the other hand seems to have a clear understanding of what happened, why it happened and what needs to continue to have success....i like that

Well, I feel Mitt did a better job but I don't think this debate will swing the polls very much. I thought a couple things got missed. I really wanted a question to the president about what he meant when he said to the Russians that he needed flexibility.

That would have been a great question.

Army. We have a MUCH bigger budget, better equipment, better training (Blow it out your ass Jarheads... you send most of your guys to OUR schools) and much more people.

We are still not nearly strong enough to handle the world if they decide they want America gone.

Oh ok, because i know little about the marines, but i think it kind of needs to go the way of oldsmobile, plymouth, mercury, saturn, etc. I know that people will say that sounds bad but i really don't see the point anymore.

BTW, i can pee i fort benning from my apartment, and everything seems pretty strong to me

Sure we are as long as they keep the nukes out of it. As Ron Pul says, "how are they going to get here?".

"We also have fewer horses and bayonets because nature of our military has changed. There are these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them."

But you forget about the millions of redneck, call of duty, wannabe soldiers just itching to shoot a (insert race/religion/nationality here). What they lack in training will be made up for in numbers and enthusiasm. LOL
