It will take some getting used to for sure cuz she has her moms heavy foot. We will see how she does.
You dont have to gas it hard for the locker to engage. Almost any amount of throttle will engage it once you have a very small amount of wheel spin. It will be a handfull in the snow and cornering in the rain. I wouldnt worry about her not liking it, I would worry about her crashing it.

I wouldnt put one in it until it is a trail rig. Not unless it was selectable. I would hate to see her get in an accident and I would feel worse if I didn't say anything.

You could actually notice a lock right in the front in a 30? I ran with mine for about 70k miles and never noticed it once. Unless I was in four wheel drive of course.

Shouldn't the vaccumn disconnect make it so it acts as if its still open when in 2wd?

Well thats certainly not the way it should be. I'm sure whatever is wrong with it could be fixed easy enough. It should be invisible in 2wd. Always. I would never run a $600+ locker in a 30, let alone one in a jeep that is a very occasional, light, wheeler.

i run a lunchbox locker in my tj and it turns fine it makes alittle noise when turning at full lock. You only feel the locker when its in 4wd.

Glad you got it taken care of. I DDed my XJ on 35s and had the front open and rear locked. I LOVED it. It wore the tires a little more and fishtailed more easily, but was 100x more predictable than the open diff and was super easy to handle. I swore I'd never have an open rear diff again after that.
