Default Ford Fiesta?

Anybody own one? I'm beginning to shop for another commuter. We have a 2012 Focus that I really like, thinking that the Fiesta might be a decent option for a small hatchback to commute with.

Any issues with them? Any taller people drive one?

I may look into another Focus, or something else all together.

We have one for our work car... That thing is like a go cart. But I compare it to my truck, so my perspective may be off.

My sister Inlaw has one and she is very picky. She loves her car and doesn't ever want to take my brother Inlaws truck anywhere.

I've hit 110mph in mine. There are a few members who can confirm this. It is a gokart. Even at 110mph I was still getting 37mpg. Daily driving I get 38-41 mpg all week long. The hatchback is cool looking, but limits cargo room. However do not trust it to get out of its own way!!!!!! Heed this warning!!!!

I am 5'8" I believe tall people can easily fit minus the rear person comfort.

My buddy has one, I've driven it. It's nice and the manual seems like a short throw shift compared to my ranger. I then found out you can order a short throw shifter for them. I was like WTF?!

I rented one in florida for 14 days and really liked it alot. I almost bought one when i got home but went with a bigger vehicle for the kids and dogs sake.

Im just shy of 6' and i thought it was pretty darn comfortable. The mileage was just shy of 40 mpg for the whole trip. not much wind or road noise and the ride quality was just what you would expect from a little commuter.

the only thing i didnt like was like immortal said, it wont take off quickly so dont plan on driving like an ass or you will get smeared all over the road. once your used to it though its not an issue at all.

the new 2014 Fiesta will be at dealers very soon (weeks). Look for incentives on 2013 models announced soon.

When I bought our two focus's (foci, focee', focus') I drove the fiesta both times. trailrail talked me into the focus both times. He was right (imo) the focus feels like a lot more car. Quieter, smoother, more solid, etc.

After selling my focus 6 months ago and getting rid of my 200k+ noisy ass superduty and driving a new half ton around, getting back into the old ladies focus makes me really happy we didn't get the fiesta, even for a commuter car.

I get this at 70mph with the 3.6L

I'm 6'2" and I am very comfortable driving it.

Just in case you thought about looking at something other then a Ford.

I has this:

Its awd and I average around 30mpg, mixed driving, but never in a conservative way. I added an sti rear sway bar i picked up off a forum cheap and I love how it handles.

It did cost more than a focus though.

A lady I work with has one and while she isn't particularly tall (maybe about 5' 8") she has to be close to 300 pounds and she seems to fit into it fine. I've ridden with her in it and there is still room for me next to her so that's saying something.

I seem to drive back and forth to Lansing once or twice a week now and am thinking of getting a second car since I am tired of the Jeep for long commute and if I wouldn't need to occasionally put a child seat and a bunch of kids gear in it too, I would consider one.

I forgot to mention I'm 6'4". I wouldn't want to be any taller and drive my Impreza, but I am still comfortable. I used to drive it 900 miles every weekend. I also found the interior way less "jazzy" but you already own a focus so it must not be an issues.

I've been a passenger to at least one of the 110 mph instances. The car didn't feel like it was trying to disassemble itself.

That blows. It was supposed to be offered with a manual. At least that's what all the early reports had said.
