computer tuning is the only way to remove the rear o2 sensors in the LS motors and not get a SES light/ problems with computer. Lots of companys that you send your computer out like wait4me and blackbear performance and local tuners who do it on a laptop while you are driving or dyno time. Cost is average around 250-300 but you can also change lots of other stuff in there while its being tuned to pick up lots more power, shut off traction management, change shift points, ect.

I got some down stream o2 sensers that sent fake signals to the computer when I took the cats off my old truck with a 5.3. That was 10 years ago, so I don't know if you can still get them.

I'd be asking myself, is the juice worth the squeeze? If this is a non competition daily driver? I'm not thinking the seat of the pants gains will be worth the hassle involved in either a o2simulator or a reflashed puter.

I had to rock my 01 without cats when they plugged up during a road trip and I did not have use of a welder to replace them. I used the anti foul trick during the trip and it worked pretty good except for when I would get up in high rpm's towing up a steep incline then it would throw the check engine light. It was cheap though and worked for the most part.

I would suggest getting a tune though, that is what i finally did and I had some other things changed more to my liking while i was at it and I gained a couple MPG's from the tune.
