Thats the thing. IF you want it interesting, do something interesting. If you want it fast, do something fast. Don't try to mix.

FYI, if you want a turbo, the shift times and HUGE gear splits in the sm465 will drop you out of boost and power band with every shift.

the .52 to one is useless under 100 mph. you will not be able to use it. an overdrive that tall sucks. ask anyone with a 42re about tall overdive ratios. i would do anything to have a .75 or .8 od instead of my .67. the rpm drop in hig gear blows. it has no power. cant hold speed even on flat ground with a head wind. i get your ideas. they are just way too high in the upper ratios. its a waste.

Like most of your posts, I am trying to offer reasonable advice, as hard as it is sometimes.

Why not go a little more old school. lowered 40s pickup, 4BT diesel, and your big crash box transmissions. Seems a lot more your style. You seem to have an obsession with the lowest cruise RPM possible. Why not build something that actually likes low rpm?

I am using a lt1 t56 in the s10. Been done, works, the 465 in the s10"was stupid.

I am using the 465 in the buggy because I do like old school iron drivetrains. The "high" range in the brownie is just for highway and will rarly be actually used unless I decide to put 5.88 gears in later. Make a bit more sence now?
I plan on leaving the brownie in 1/1 most of the time. The reverse case which is really 2 spur gears meshing on 2 shafts will give a .75/1 reduction which will give aceleration of a 80's truck. If I wanted fast I would have built a rail.
