I also wake up to wierd sounds, however, I dont have a bedside firearm, my dog is in her cage and is only 4lbs, and I am hung like a tic-tac so using my "wang" as a distraction wont buy me much time, unless the intruder falls over laughing.

i often listen to the radio when i wake up in the middle of the night. several commercials have a doorbell sound in the background. the first 4~5 times i heard the commericals i when nuts thinking someone was at the door at 3am. and i was grabbing for my bedside "personal defense device". Grrrrrr that makes me mad.

I cannot sleep with the TV/radio on. I have a small fan on low to provide white noise but I need to be able to hear what's going on in my world. Call me paranoid but they wont catch me unready.

Meh. I have too many bolt guns and only a few semi auto guns. I do want to build a heavy barrel 20" 30-06 on a 700 la. I am bored with monster magnums that shoot into the next zip code. I have a LOT of Greek hxp m2 ball on order and a garand I am making into a DMR.
