Default 89 gmc k5 "TONKA II"

i bought this K5 a year ago with a blown motor i got it for the right price and it was rust free. My friend and i put a GM crate 350 in it and a week later the fuel pump went out, and while dropping the tank we noticed a leak that just started on the top side of it. So i put a new fuel pump tank and sending unit in it, it ran great but my buddy needed a vehicle to drive then my other buddy needed one. So needless to say i havent even got to drive it in a year but one time. We bogged it a few time and drove it all winter and since the floors were just replaced and not undercoated they now are rusty again. So now i am starting over.
I am putting an exhaust on it as most of you have read, then i am going to drive it over winter, i might put my eight lug axles under it if i get a chance. i definately will be leveling out the lift it currently has 10 inches in the front 14 in the rear so i want to take the piece of steel that was welded to the frame as a drop shackle out, and that should take care of my u joint issue in the rear. So we will see where this will lead over the next few months. over time i want to do a complete restoration but we will see what happens

It's a lot easier to just build it your self & is usually cheaper as well. I think my exhaust for my K5 cost about $100 w/ mufflers!

Okay so my buddy and i put a toggle switch in it a year ago for the stater because my key wouldn't turn the stater over and i finally figured out the problem. this was converted to a manual transmission and where they spliced the yellow and purple wire together it came apart so now my key starts it :)
