I have faith that if people like you and greasemonkey concede that it is already a lost cause we will never move in the right direction.

It's take take take take and soon there is nothing left to take.....you're perspective is that of a defeatist, and its said to see so many people willing to just throw in the towel.

Its so much easier to accept the world, changing it takes time away from your life.

So then what are you doing to make it different that I should begin doing?

I didn't say that I was doing anything world breaking, but at least I am challenging the idea instead of just thinking it is acceptable since it is marginally cheaper than the current direction.

You want me to run for public office

From 2008 to 2010, annual abortion rates among participants in the Contraceptive Choice Project -- dubbed CHOICE -- ranged from 4.4 abortions per 1,000 women to 7.5 abortions per 1,000. Thatís far less than the 19.6 abortions per 1,000 women nationwide reported in 2008, the latest year for which figures are available

I don't get how you don't see this as saving money. These are staggering numbers. 14 less kids on welfare per 1000 women!!!

Wait, so since abortions are down that must mean more kids on welfare?

Again, what is your point.

The program lowers abortion rates, no one has argued that.

Why should I pay for your mistake or to prevent your mistake? Put that into some sort of logical sentance. If you can.

If the program cut abortions 75% then in turn it most likely reduces pregnancy rates around the same %. This is a guess but if it is even half then the program is working.
Just like everyone one has said. In the real word this save money for those of us that pay taxes. This is a step foreword to reducing the number of people on welfare.

The solution we all want isn't going to happen. If I came across a genie in a lamp, ending welfare would be my first wish.

I agree with you that if we just reduced welfare, this would all be a moot point. Cutting welfare has been tried in the past and doesn't work well. With almost half of the country on some sort of government assistance, even speaking about cutting any of it means you're going to lose a shit ton of votes. So, it's damn near 100% accurate to say that welfare programs themselves aren't going away.

So, how do you reduce the cost of it? Preventing more crack babies from getting shot out of government assistance sucking mothers.

Not the ideal solution, but it's effective. Please come to the gray area where the rest of us are hanging out.

Is it?

You really believe that?

So less of them had abortions, more of them used birth control.

Do you have some information that also shows a corresponding drop in welfare recipients during this time period to back up your claim?

The way i see it we have X number of welfare recipients cost Y per person.

Add in this program and you now have.

x*y+birth control program recipients=more $$.

No where do I see any proof or study that shows we now have.
(X-BC Recipients)*y-less $$

Please show me some information that shows this is actually effective in reducing overall welfare costs along with the cost of the new program. When you do that, I will join you.

I've got to agree with you. GM is assuming that those that are on welfare are motivated enough to vote to keep it. I don't believe they are.

I did read the article, I read it again just now for you to insure I wasn't mistaken.

I don't see anywhere in the article where it shows that the cost of the two programs will be less than the current program.

You aren't very smart are you?

Simple.

To remain on welfare, one must accept sterilization.

No eggs & swimmers, no future welfare recipients.

Never happen though.

I would support this, but you know government control over our bodies is a bad thing, even if we are receiving their aid.....
