Default Operation White Trash Express. 81 z28 build.

So my dad bought this car brand new in 1981. Its a z28 camaro with all the options. When I was 9 or so he gave it to me. We played with it and I learned a lot driving it around. I learned how to pull and rebuild a tranny when I smoked the one in it, I learned how to do donuts and power slides in this car. I learned that Gma gets pissed when you lay rubber in her driveway.

Fast forward 18 years. I had stored it when I was 16 and got into trucks. It sat in my gpas shop for 11 years while I did my thing. A couple months ago my dad started hinting he wanted to play with it. So in my spare time this summer I started collecting parts and getting a game plan worked out with him. We plan on putting a lq4 6.0l, a 4l80e transmission, a 12 bolt rear end with 4.10 gears and a spool.

Here is is getting stripped for bodywork.

Thanks, I remember my dad had a 79 with a 454 and a 4 speed. Kinda wish we had that one still too. I am not huge on this body style but its a very sentimental car.

Sweet man, I've been helping my girlfriends father build up his '79 Z-28. It's a pretty fun car nothing crazy though. And I agree with you on the body style.

I like the body style, kinda wish it was a 73 with the split bumper. I think this car will be sweet as hell with the gears and 6.0l. I hate plastic and its a bitch to paint.

I was thinking 72, but yeah I agree. The exterior still needs some work. I just put new carpet and seats in it and moved the shifter up a bit earlier this spring.

If you aren't worried about being 100% percent original here are some knock offs. They are ABS plastic instead of cardboard.
