Default Can Cabrera not achieve the triple crown?

News reports keep saying "he can lock it in today".. Does that mean if he strikes out every time his average will drop so much that he won't win it?

Hamilton is 1 behind in Home runs.
Trout & someone else is right behind him in BA. So if Trout goes 5 for 5 and Miggy goes 0 fo, there is a chance Trout can pass him.

I actually think Cabby is playing for the MVP votes now.
If he back doored into the triple crown, some voters may go with Trout. But by playing, he looks more "deserving".

That being said....even IF Cabby gets the triple crown I think Trout is the MVP.

Trout is .07 behind, encarnacion is .12. it would take trough going like 6-6 and cabie 0-5, I dunno exact numbers on that. But if hamilton doesn't hit more than 1 hr, I don't see cabbie playing more than 3 at bats.

That's a pretty stupid comment given that it's the last day of the season. Of course he either gets it or doesn't today.

http://m.freep.com/Sports/article?a=...1003001&f=1233

This article on freeps website explains it. Basically to lose the batting average he'd have to go 0-3 and trout would have to go 5-5 to pass him. Not likely he'll see 3 at bats. RBI's are all but a lock. The most RBI's in a game in history is 12 and that was a long time ago. Hamilton has had multiple homer games this year, 4 in a game back in June I think, but he's facing a tough pitcher tonight so not likely

It's pretty much a lock, And we should know before the first pitch if Hamilton passed him in hrs, he starts at 350 pm

Well that clears it up! No way Oakland is going to give Hamilton anything to hit with so much on the line.

Someone who has hit 4 home runs in a game obviously doesn't need to be pitched anything good to homer.

Valid point but I doubt he'll get anything remotely hitable if its in a situation that he can do masive damage. Playing for the west and to avoide the one game play in.

The rest of the team needs to stop hitting, he needs to be up to bat the least amount possible.

End of the 8th 1-5 no HR. They would have to go through the whole batting order for him to bat again.

Trout the MVP? His team didn't even make the postseason.

If I were cabrera I would play today as he has nothing to loose (besides getting hurt), and if he could hit another out it would be icing on the cake.

He has locked it up. Hamilton cant take it away.

I see both arguments with Trout and Cabbie, but I don't see How anyone can say either are a for sure winner, and the other doesn't deserve it.
