It is recommended that you have a spare tire. There are some guys who don't have them on the trail. Make sure your tires are in good shape and don't put yourself in a situation where you might need a spare. Accidents can happen and there is typically someone in the group that will loan a spare to get you back. But don't rely on that. Prepare yourself.

I've loaned my spare out before, several times.

One thing to keep in mind is my spare weighs 192lbs and the price for borrowing it is you have to lift it in and outta my truck

Thanks Kixx. I don't want to be that guy, but my tires are brand new so hopefully I won't need it! I'll mount my spare just in case

I would do it again too, did it in 2009 and I pretty much don't have heat anyway. The aluminum hardtop doesn't hold anything in, and constrict's my movement and visibility.

Like kixx and Beefy said there are alot of spares out there and most will let you barrow there for a small fee. I wouldnt go buy a wheel and tire just for this event being that its only a day away but its nice to have. I have needed mine three times in 2 years, all for the same reason, blowing a bead and walking the tire off the rim. I did need it twice last snofari, I rum 16.5's so its expected with out beadlocks in cold temps. I also now carry my tire spoons, air, and a bucket to get the tires back on now.

And some starting fluid wouldn't be a bad addition either. In the right hands it works great, in the wrong hands it's a side show!

Sounds like a hot date
We are leavig around noon tomorrow. We have to stop and drop off the dogs with the grandparents on the way. We may leave the truck and trailer there too so we can plug the truck in. It has been hateful about starting even plugged in with this cold snap.

i have use that method a few times, worked once and not the second time. I have found a 5 gallon bucket and a little pressure it works better and its safer.

I need to borrow a tire 2 years ago, I even had a spare.

I lost two tires in one day

I'm glad to be back in the warm weather though, Green Bay was a bit chilly and breezy earlier this week.

I thought I was quick with 3 hours for my balzer, newer cars to me are easier to the the assembly process being better, you just need to know what that process is so you can pull the dash quick.
