Guess I'll be installing my m8000 this week.

Email into engo, I have had two issues arise in the last 11 months with my winch and each time engo took care of it very quickly and at no cost to me. I have been pretty happy with their customer service and the winch to be honest (other then line speed).

They warrantied my syn rope when it snagged on the bolt that holds it to the drum, and the drum brake broke on me, which was an assembly error they admitted to, I and quickly sent me out a new drum and brake at no charge. Curious to see what they might do here.

Best we can figure, it has a wireless remote, and something in the area i was in made to activate.
Wow, that's wild.

Glad i was driving it when it happened, i thought something broke on the truck like a wheel bearing or something with how it felt. Had it been parked in my driveway or garage and did it i would think with how hot it was getting it could if easily become a fire issue.

Looks like it all spooled up in the middle and the cable bent the cross bars. I would be surprised if they warrantied that.

IDK, It did spool up and bend the cross bars, but bent because the hook came up and over the drum after it pulled itself through the fairlead while I was driving. Don't know unless you ask. I'll provide them with the facts and details of what happened and hope for the best. The cross bars in the pic look bent out away from the drum, They are actually bent downwards towards the center of the winch. It is just the angle of the pic.

The winch pulled so hard, on its own, it collapsed itself. It wasn't improper use.

That sucks man, you should consider installing a disconnect under the hood. Like a boat battery switch. I don't like leaving mine hooked up. No by deal to throw the disconnect when you need it or before you hit the woods.

Just got back from some wheeling around the house. There's a little snow, but it's got the ice crust underneath. Good news for me is starter arrived early and is on. All my last minute upgrades are done. Check fluids, clean 3yrs of trash out of the inside and strap down contents and I'm ready to roll!
