Last year, we had basically no snow till a week before the event, then got a bout 15 inches in one storm, and another few a few days later. Of course, it warmed up and rained a bit the day or two before the event causing all that ice but we still had good snow. My Saturday run last year found snow in the 15 inch range that required every member of the run to winch even though the smallest tires were 35s and everyone was locked front and rear. Point is, depending on the trail even 6 inches of snow can be a challenge.

We won't be running Baja so super bright lights aren't really needed. I'm a light nerd, but the reality is I don't have most of them on during the night run as the reflections off the trees and such just is too bright. Not to mention blinding the guy ahead of you.

Biggest thing most people seem to lack on the night run is warm enough clothing. Then again, a dumb co-driver can make the night run much better by allowing you stay in the rig with the heat on!

Im hoping to rely on dumb or in other words, courteous/helpfull co-drivers to help in those situations… Or just use the CB when small communications are needed. With an open cage I think I will be one of the first ones running back to the hot tub & the bar lol.

Hopefully have the windshield and the tube doors on by then to help a bit…

I also have no doors. It wasn't that bad last year, as long as you still have heat/defroster in the jeep.

I do have heat in the jeep still.... I may need to get creative with the duct work a bit to be a little warmer in there as its a bit torn apart.

I guess it all depends on the temp outside as well. If its single digits im not sure how much the heat blowing right out the cage is going to help... Im hoping for a lot of snow up to SnoFari and then sun and 32ish the whole wknd!

Heat is overrated

No doors, no top, only used windshield when going on pavement over 20 mph

That was last year, this year full doors, full heat, full bodied lol.....but only because the buggy isn't finished yet.

I really want to run doorless, but the wife keeps saying no. I'd keep the soft top on to keep the falling snow off me though. I honestly don't think doorless would be too bad. The reality is I'm dressed pretty warm already because I'm outside quite a bit, and we are moving quite slow and in mostly wooded areas where the wind wouldn't be bad. Still, I'm betting the doors will be on again this year if I want to stay married. lol I'm jealous of you open top guys. Then again, I say that only because I've never wheeled topless in the winter. Once I do I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't so jealous any longer.
