To make the event any larger will ruin the event, it will not feel like a large fun really well organized trail ride, it will feel like you waiting in line to get up the hill just to find yourself waiting to go up the next one again and again.

No event will be perfect for everyone but this one is really good for everyone. You dont feel out of place in a hardcore rig or a DD there is something for everyone. Everything is kept lite by keeping the event the size it is.

The amount of work done just for 60 rigs is huge, do it for more than one weekend would a ton more. The people that do events like Jeep Jamboree do it as a full time job. This is all done in sapre time by volunteers. The people putting on the event want to enjoy there hard work as well so give them a break about changing how it works and enjoy what they do for you, and enjoy the event.

I was thinking maybe there was a bigger hotel in the area that we could transfer to as the event grows. I figured there were enough trails but i dont know the area so I suppose im wrong. I understand just a bummer for the people who dont make the cut and the money that the will GLFWDA miss out on.

X2 this is an expensive event as it for a poor college kid.....wheeling is not a cheap sport but is an absolute blast and I plan to spend my money on it for many years to come

Thats an idea but one event is stressful and time consuming enough not sure how they could go about that

Although this sounds great on the surface, not only would it probably not happen, it won't happen.

Many people don't realize how much goes on behind the scenes for these events. Booking the hotel and saying "we're going trail riding" is the easy part. There are DNR permits, maps, getting trail leaders, getting sponsors, prerunning the trails, organizing who is going where, taking extra time off of work and on and on and on.

Most of the people who put on these events get burned out after a couple of years. I say this without any sarcasm, if you guys really want to see these kind of events continue, get involved, join GLFWDA, join SoFo and be a part of it. It's tons of fun but it requires more than a handful of people.

This is my official stance. Thank you Jason.

We have no plans to increase the price.
We have no plans to increase the rig limit.
We have no plans to add an extra weekend.
We have no plans to change the location.

We've got a good thing going on here and we're going to do our best to keep it that way.

Maybe offer next years spots to those that attended this year first? Maybe a early registration for previous attendees? Just some thoughts so the loyal participants do get pushed out.

I don't think you would have any new attendees that way
But I would have a spot!

Maybe. Maybe not. I don't assist in the planning so have no dog in the fight but it seems to me I would be pissed of I've been attending an event for years and then wasn't able to get in even thought I sent my reg in first day of registration. Seems they should get preference.

I'm really leaning towards best decorated envelope!

We are considering several options for next year, we'll talk at 'Fari.

I too have no say in the planning what so ever, and I thank those who do! But I have to agree with what you said, I would be extremely bummed if I did not get in after all the fun I had last year. On the flip side my dad bought a jeep just because of this event last year and it would be a shame if he could not go because he was blocked out.

It's the luck of the draw. Simple as that. Sucks to not be able to go but what makes any attendee any more special than someone who wants to go as a first timer?

Or, you could join SoFo, be a trail leader, help with registration, handle all the T-shirt orders and all the other stuff and you are automatically in.

I would like to find a way to help keep events like this and more to come going. We need to get more young ones involved to keep this going before all the old timers are gone.

You should get involved with Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association.
