Default jeep wj rear whine ..help locating

99 jeep dana 35 rear. Over 45 mph has constant whine that doesnt matter if accelerating or slowing. Neutral or gear alwsys a whine. Finally pulled diff cover an looks perfect inside no shavings very clean. Pinion seal nit leaking either. BUT whete rear driveshaft goes into transfer case it now leaks. And the driveshaft moves slighty up an down thete to. Rear or drive shaft near pinion has no play. Could the rear of transfer case cause whine? Thank u.

how many miles are on it?
i would check the tc fluid and see if it is dirty or low
it is possible that the bearing that supports the shaft in the tc is bad

Transfer case took two full quarts so it was pretty low. You were right

If it took 2 quarts you might have sons permanent damage already I think it only holds 2 or 2.5 quarts
And if I were you I would replace the seal on the slip yolk
