Default Bent my axle, suggestions?

I just found out my Front Dana 44 is bent.

I did a little research and found out it is possible to straighten it out using an alignment bar/tru-bar setup. Has anyone in the club done this before? I would assume yes.. but if so, was there somewhere (i.e. a shop) you took it to? How much did that run you?

I'm from the metro Detroit area despite what my profile says. Just looking for friendly suggestions.. I have a long time to think about it.

Thanks in advance.

D44s are a every ware. I would say pick up a new one for 100$ and swap it out. I would assume that would e the cheapest.

That you will not find for 100$ but a ford or chev full width go for 100$ all day.
Good luck.
I have a friend with a new one that is also bent..

I have never done it,but I would try to find someone that does frame straightening. They can sucure your jeep( axle) on their rack and apply pressure by pushing or pulling as needed.I know there is a way to tell if your axle is straight by shinning a bright lite through the axle and reading the shadow it casts. Start searching, alot of 30s and 44s are getting bent,Im sure there're are some write ups on straightening them.
Good luck.

Give rocksolid performance a shout in cedar springs. I'm sure they can fix it for you. They are just up the road from me and I will be heading to the eastside Oct 15 so I could help with either delivery or pickup. The owner is beejers on here. He is a Hell of a good guy to deal with.

Since your sig says you are in Afghanistan, where are you really located? Clyde's frame alignment in Pontiac does axle straightening.

Dynatrac makes a replacement housing, i believe its multiple times stronger then the factory housing. The other option would be to get it straightened and then add tube stiffeners.

That's so funny. I called Mulmbies and they referred me to DTS, I spoke with them yesterday. $365. Seems right.

Just like Silver Lake... without the lake. Call it the Drinking well sand dunes. The signs would say Caution: Watch for guided missiles
