Idk about tjs but it is probably the same
But on a Cj/yc you can't because they contour to the tranny tunnel

are you taking about the slider or the fold part?

Both are different. The slider handle is different on each side and there is a tab that is different. You can probably make it work but it will be very half assed.

As for the folding mech, I believe those will work on both sides.

i had a lady come over and she had a 99 tj and both sides of hers flip forward to let passengers in the back, my 97 only does it on the passenger side.
