Default Michigan Humane Society March

I just signed up for the Mega March for Animals at Kensington Metropark on Oct 7. I love animals and what this group does for them so the more support they can get the better! If you're interested please donate at the link below, or feel free to join my team or create your own if you want to come and participate in the walk, with or without your pet.

Not trying to spam the board or get any free crap, I don't get anything out of this myself besides the satisfaction of helping animals in need. It's just something I care about and want to get as much help for as possible!

The humane society of the united states is affiliated with PETA and not MHS.

You would think I would be for that group but I am not.
I will donate if I don't end up signing up myself.

Good. PETA are among the most unethical organization of miscreants out there.

I'd rather see someone google a local shelter and provide assistance, or donate time than see PETA get a single penny.

Honestly, I wish MHS would change their name to make it more obvious that they are not linked up with those kooks at the National Level.

Agreed. I haven't had any dealings with the national humane society, but every experience I've had with any local shelter or humane society has been a great one that I'd gladly support.

Very familiar with the humane society of the united states. They don't have a single shelter anywhere in the nation. They are lobbyists. They also are against anyone making an honest living in agriculture. The west bureau baptist church is on the same level with them.

I think that organization took the humane society name to give people the impression that they are similar to local organizations but on a national level. They have tried to stay visually distinct from PETA because PETA has earned a bad reputation. I am probably the most pro-animal rights person on the board, but they go beyond what is even acceptable by my standards. They believe that all farming of animals and even having pets is a type of slavery.
I would be hard pressed to think that my dogs, who are sitting at home with their treats, toys, beds, prescription foods, and sweaters are slaves. I argue that if anything I am the slave who is paying for their pampered existance.

Michigan Humane Society is a good organization who actually looks to give animals homes.

Good deal. I in no way was trying to bring a bad name to this group. Just like to be informed. I hope they get the support they deserve with this March.

Is MHS the same group that had Sherry Silk lying her fat ass off to keep doves from being hunted in MI. I love animals but can't support a group that doesn't want me to be able to hunt what is probably the most abundant game bird in the world.
