Default Furnace activated.

Have any of you turned on your furnace for the year yet? I don't care if there ends up being 4 feet of snow on the ground. Furnace doesn't come on until after October 1st. Preferably not until the 2 week of October if at all possible.

Nope it has not been turned on. But I did buy some Infrared heaters for the garage to try out this winter.

I kicked it on this morning. Zero pride, mega comfort (minus the dust smell).

My wife turned the furnace on 2 weeks ago, she's cold blooded, all our friends call her snake.

I have mine "on" but set at 69, so far it has not needed to run yet.

Mine is on. But I burn wood for heat and hot water. I've been burning for water for 2 months now.

Turned mine on the other night when the temp were in the low 30's. If it was up to me it would not be on. My wife and kids had other thoughts though.

U R doing it rong. One must wait for the cold snap, find the furnace does not work and then call Curt or Shawn (HVAC guys) begging for immediate attention (along with the 10 billion other people who wait to find out their shit is broke).

Is it really worth burning to heat your water during the summer months?

I use about 1 face cord every 2 months. "if" I paid for the wood that would be about 15$ a month. I'm guessing that's About what it takes to keep my electric 60gal water heater heated..
To me it's the never ending hot water satisfaction.. And I enjoy cutting splitting and stacking. So to me it's worth it. Maby not to the average joe
